中考英语知识点：定冠词的用法

　　1、用于特指的或说话双方知道的人或事物。

　　例如：Look at the eraser on the floor. Whose is it?

　　看地板上的这块橡皮。会是谁的呢？

　　Last year we went ti an ols people’s home. The old people were very happy.

　　去年我们去了一家老年公寓。那些老人都非常高兴。

　　2、由于指代上文已提到的人或事物。

　　例如：My uncle bought a house. The house has a beautiful garden.

　　我叔叔买了幢房子。那幢房子带有一个漂亮的花园。

　　3、用于单数可数名词前，表示一类人或事物。

　　例如：The brain is the center of thought.

　　大脑是思想的中心。

　　The panda is one of the animals in danger.

　　熊猫是濒危动物中的一种。

　　注意：表示一类人或事物时，可以用不定冠词或定冠词加可数名词单数，也可以直接用可数名词复数形式。

　　A horse is a useful animal.

　　The horse is a useful animals.

　　Horses are useful animals.

　　马是一种有用的动物。
