Barnaby Swinburn, 12,has now been accepted into the IQ(智力) club after getting the highest possible score for a boy of his age—162.
Sitting the Mensa test was Barnaby's own idea.for he wanted to understand himself better. His parents proudly said."We have never forced him to do anything and he makes decisions all by himself.When we found out his test score,we were really pleased for him and he was very excited about it too.”
His mother Ghislaine, 50,from Bristol. said, “Maths is something that Barnaby has always stood out in. We don't even have to ask him to do maths homework,because he enjoys it and he just does it anyway!"Barnaby's love for maths goes as far back as when he was just four Ghislaine recalled(回忆)one time he couldn't sleep because he was“trying to work out how many seconds there are in an hour".
Barnaby dreams of studying at Oxford University.He wants to become a computer programmer and has already talked about taking up programming classes on his birthday in January. Besides the Einstein-level IQ,Barnaby loves sports as well as playing practical jokes.
Ghislaine said, "I am busy with my work in the hospital and it is stressful sometimes. So seeing Barnaby do well has been something so nice. It's been a journey of self-discovery for him and this is just the start!"
