Read the instructions and point to the lines where students write the things they like in a sandwich. Have students do the activity individually.
As students work, move around the room checking progress. Help students with the names, spelling, and pronunciation of new ingredients they wish to write on the lines.
Have the students compare their lists with a partner. Ask them to teach their partner the meaning of any new ingredients.
Ask some students to tell the class what ingredients they wrote. Write these responses on the board. Explain what each item is if students aren't sure. Then ask students to repeat the name of each ingredient.
