　　The administration of U.S. President Barack Obama declared a 'public health emergency,' as health officials warned that further cases of swine flu are likely to emerge in the U.S. At a news conference at the White House, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano described the declaration as 'standard operating procedure' to allow the federal and state governments easier access to flu tests and medication.

The Israeli Health Ministry also said there is one suspected case in the country.

China called on all travelers who have been to swine-flu-affected areas and developed flu-like symptoms to identify themselves to local authorities and seek treatment.

Indonesia has increased surveillance at all entry points for travelers with flu-like symptoms -- using devices at airports that were put in place years ago to monitor for severe acute respiratory syndrome, or SARS, and bird flu. It said it was ready to quarantine suspected victims if necessary.
